Repeat Prescriptions

Patients on long-term medication can order repeat prescriptions in writing by using the slip attached to their previous prescription or by calling 01225 315333 from 9am - 12pm and 2pm - 4pm weekdays.

Alternatively you can order online via the link at the top of this page. Registration is required before using the system for the first time. New users should visit the surgery with photo ID for login details.

Reception staff DO NOT issue or get authorised repeat prescriptions this is all done through our onsite pharmacy Hounsell and Green.

There is an onsite pharmacy in the building (Hounsell and Greene), as well as other local pharmacies very close by - please see the Pharmacies tab for more details.

The prescription clerk role at the surgery is undertaken by some Hounsell and Greene pharmacy staff. This means they will have access to your medication record for the purposes of processing repeat prescriptions, even if your prescription is fulfilled at another pharmacy of your choosing.  If you would prefer this not to happen, please notify reception.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Please allow 3 full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.

Repeat Prescription requests will be changing

From the 1st February 2017 you will now need to give 72 hours (three working days) for your repeat medication.

Oldfield Surgery Policy for repeat medication has changed due to patient safety reasons the Doctor will no longer be interrupted during a busy surgery to sign prescriptions; these will now be done after 5pm starting from February 2017
